The bear-men from Prilep (Macedonia) by means of their ritual mask procession are re-discovering the identity of the village. The film wants to emphasize the role of these masked figures like symbols of identity as well as of the nature of sex-roles. The bear-men from Prilep and their procession are a rare example in Macedonia of a tradition which is kept alive by the young generation and is continued with great respect and pleasure.
