Tanners and furriers from the Banat region are the last of these craftsmen. The procedure for tanning skins has remained unchanged since the beginning of the twentieth century, although fashions have changed. The animal skins and furs are acquired according to an age-old procedure. In fact, when someone sacrifices an animal, they bring its skin to the tanner, for a leather coat or a jacket which will be collected even after a few years. Then suck garments are transferable to one’s children or grandchildren.
