EURORAMA

ONE EUROPE OF PEOPLES IN ETHNOGRAPHIC FILM FESTIVALS

Changing traditions, changing identities. At the frontiers of Europe
Traditions and identities in change, Between two worlds

Museo degli Usi e Costumi della Gente Trentina in collaboration with Trento Film Festival

   Trento, 1st – 2nd May 2011

In its fifth edition, “Eurorama. One Europe of peoples in ethnographic film festivals”, a cinematic event organized by the Museo degli Usi e Costumi della Gente Trentina of San Michele all’Adige in cooperation with Trento Film Festival, offers yet again in Trento the best ethnographic cinema of European concern. The program includes some 13 winners or runners up, selected among some of the most important venues of ethnographic cinema in Europe: Paris (France), Belgrade (Serbia), Rovinji (Croatia), Torun (Poland), Moscow (Russia), Nuoro (Italia), Manchester (UK), Bergen (Norway), Vienna (Austria), Tartu (Estonia), Göttingen (Germany), Lubljiana (Slovenia), Joensuu (Finland). A complex and fascinating cinematic voyage, which allows us to know better the multifarious identity of a continent whose cultures and traditions, to the attentive and ever curious eye of the visual anthropologist, are discovered in their constantly unfolding and ever-changing vitality.
